(The Disturbances/Interruptions/may kindly be overlooked as these recordings have been retrieved from tape recordings which were done when Tape Recording was new in South India-RTP which was part of this concert could not be included-Attempts to reduce noise had resulted in reducing other desirable harmonics too and hence left as it is.These are being uploaded on the net with the request and kind consent of Sri Desikan's eldest daughter Sau Vijayalakshmi Srinivasan and her husband Sri R Srinivasan, now residing in Mumbai-Sri Desikan's friend and fan,Sri S Venkatachari,CA -(LIC) Rtd has got the analog music from tapes into digital and made it available to me for upload. All Rasikas, Desikan's fans and the music world are grateful to them . )

This is a bouquet for the Loyal and Die-hard fans of this legendary maestro from Salem.
This selection is from his various concerts over a period spanning from 1950s to 1980s. As we all know the limitations of recording on tapes from live concerts and Radio as also the improper mike
volume adjustments in those days, the reproduction may not be comparable to the present day digital music. Some of his best performances given in his prime, were made in electrical recording by All India Radio. I understand all such recordings prior to 1960s are untraceable even in their archives.
Hence the rarity of this treasure-- Music lovers may find highly useful and appreciable nuances and ideas. Those in the profession could benefit by listening to and developing further those ideas

I am happy to reproduce the ONLY available photograph of Salem G Desikan's vocal music Concert, taken on the occasion of my sister's marriage at the residence of S V Venkatarangam Iyengar (Father of Auditor Kesavan), at Pension lines, near Kaliaperumal karadu,Salem in June 1962--
Desikan is accompanied by Yethpur S Srinivasan on his 7-stringed violin and Gugai P Raghavan on Mridangam and Sri Eachengudy N Ramamurthy on Tanpura- This photo can therefore be called a collector's item indeed !
